Then went up Moses, Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of
the elders of Israel; and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under His
feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone which resembled the body of
heaven in its clearness.
Upon the
nobles of the children of Israel He laid not his hand; in addition they saw God
and did eat and drink.
And the
Lord told Moses to come up to Him upon the mountain, and once there, “I will
give you tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written that
you may teach them to the people.”
And Moses
rose up and his servant Joshua, and went up to the mount of God; but told the
elders to wait for him at a distance, and left Aaron and Hur to watch over
them, instructing the people that if any of them had any disputes or
complaints, that they should take them before Aaron and Hur.
When Moses
went up unto the mountain, he found it had been covered with a cloud. The glory
of the Lord was on the mountain; but the cloud covered it for six days.
And on the seventh day God called unto Moses out of the
cloud. And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the
top of the mountain as seen by the children of Israel .
However,
Moses was caught up into the cloud and got up into the mount where he remained
forty days and forty nights. www.chaberbooks.com
