The son in hiding revealed and crowned king
And the captains did according as Jehoiada the priest had ordered them
to do. And he gave King David’s spears and shields that were in the temple of
the Lord to the captain s. And the guards stood every man with his weapon in
his hand surrounding the king from every corner of the temple. And Jehoiada the
priest brought out the king’s son and put the crown upon his head and gave him
the testimony, and anointed him; and the people clapped their hands and said “God
save the king.” And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the
people she came to the people in the temple of the Lord; and when she looked
she saw the king standing be a pillar as was the custom; and she heard the voice
of the trumpet and the adulation of the people as they proclaimed the new king;
and she shouted, “Treason! Treason!.”. But the priest when she was seized,
commanded that she may not be killed in the house of the Lord. So they dragged her outside and killed her.
