BRAGADAYJAH 790
Having heard Boaz, Ruth replied and
said, “Let me find favor in thy sight, my Lord, for that thou hast comforted
me, in that thou hast spoken friendly unto thy handmaid though I am not like
unto one of thy handmaidens.” And Boaz told Ruth, to eat with the rest of his
maidens at mealtime; and she did eat with them and was filled. And when she was
risen up to resume her gleaning, Boaz instructed his men to allow her to glean
even among the sheaves, (the un-reaped wheat), and not to prevent her. Besides,
Boaz said to his men, let some fall from your hands on purpose so that she may
gather it freely. And Ruth gleaned in the field until evening and when she
gathered together all she had it was about an ephah of barley, which is about
33 pounds of weight.
