Moses
Sought to Reminisce and Inspire the People
Now
Moses continues to instruct the people as he looked backwards across the
landscape they had travelled, and forwards to the land and the journey and the
challenges and rewards that la ahead.
So he
commanded them, all he commandments which I command thee this day, shall you
keep that you may live, and multiply and go in and possess the land which the
Lord promised to give to your fathers.
You must remember all the way through which the Lord your God led you
for forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and to test you, to know what
was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
And
he humbled you and allowed you to suffer hunger, and fed you with manna which neither
you nor your fathers knew before, that He might make you know that man does not
live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the
Lord.
Your
clothes grew not old, neither did your feet swell over the period of forty
years. Know, therefore in your heart that as a father chastises his son, so the
Lord God chastises you.
