The Pathway To Peace
In the opinion of this
writer, the pathway to peace between Israel and Hamas cannot, and will not be
achieved via outside intervention.
Reasons: Hamas and other
groups like Hamas have vowed not to stop fighting until Israel is driven off
the face of the map. That being so, the world has to understand that Hamas not
Israel is the aggressor here. That
Israel has to fight for its very existence.
Secondly, both Israel and
Palestine must agree to live side by side in peace, giving up all further
territorial claims.
Thirdly, both Israel and
Palestine must come together and realize that the real enemy here is Hamas.
Palestine should turn its attention on Hamas, not Israel and drive Hamas out of
their towns and cities and territory.
Fourthly either Israel by
itself or both Israel and Palestine acting together should crush Hamas and
spare them not, until they come to terms with Israel and promise to abandon their
aggression against Israel and the rest of the world in general, but against
Israel in particular. Failing this last, a ceasefire means nothing and simply
puts off the inevitable.
