BRAGADAYJAH 1137
Judah Under Condemnation
Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon went up and made Jehoiakim his
servant and he served him for three years until at last he rebelled against
him. And the Lord sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of Syria, and
bands of Moabites, and bands of Ammonites, all came up Against Judah in
accordance with the promise of the Lord which He spoke concerning Judah;
because of the sins of Manasseh which the Lord said He would do; for Manasseh
had beside the wickedness which he did, shed much innocent blood, causing the
Lord to vow to remove Judah out of His sight. So Jehoiakim died and slept with
his fathers and was buried. And his son Jehoiachin reigned in his stead. And
the king of Egypt came not up again against Judah for the king of Babylon had
taken from the king of Egypt all the lands from the river of Egypt to the river
Euphrates. And yet Jehoiachin, the son of Jehoiakim, did evil in the sight of
the Lord. He was eighteen years old when he began to reign and he reigned in
Jerusalem three months. And his mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of El-nathan
of Jerusalem.
