BRAGADAYJAH 965
Sheba rose up against David
After the king had crossed over Jordan, a dispute broke out between the
men of Israel and the men of Judah, for the men of Israel came to the king and
protested that the men of Judah had stolen him away, and carried him away over
Jordan; but the men of Judah responded and said that they were nearer of kin to
the king then they were, and further, they did not come to the king looking for
a gift from him. But the men of Israel responded to the men of Judah and said
that they had ten parts in the king and the men of Judah were very angry with
the men of Israel. And at that time,
there rose up a man of Belial, (Satan), whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri
a Benjamite, and he blew a trumpet and said, “We have no part in David neither
have we inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tent Oh Israel.” So
the men of Israel departed from David and followed after Sheba; but the men of
Judah clave unto David their king from Jordan unto Jerusalem. And David came to
his house at Jerusalem and the king took the ten concubines he had left in his
house to keep it and put them in wards, and did go in unto them no more, so
they remained childless until their deaths. Then the king ordered Amasa to assemble
the men of Judah within three days. So Amasa went to assemble the men of Judah,
but he stayed longer than the three days appointed him by the king.www.chaberbooks.com
