BRAGADAYJAH 405
On the fourth day, Elizur,
the son of Shedeur prince of the children of Reuben offered his gifts. And he offered, one silver platter of one
hundred and thirty shekels of silver, one silver bowl of seventy shekels after
the shekels of the sanctuary, both vessels filled with fine flour with oil for
a meal offering; one golden spoon of ten shekels full of incense; one young
bullock, one ram, one lamb of the first year, for a burnt offering; one kid of
the goats for a sin offering, and for a sacrifice of peace offering two oxen,
five rams, five he-goats, five lams of the first year. This was the offering of
Elizur the son of Shedeur.
So far we have seen that the
offerings of these four princes representing their individual families, all
gave exactly similar offerings, not only in quality and quantity; but in variety also;
for the meal offering, the burnt offering, the sin offering and the peace
offering.
It would seem that none tried
to outdo the other and none wanted to be outdone; yet there was no striving
among them; for indeed we may surmise, God would have had it no other way.
