BRAGADAYJAH 390
Covering of the Golden Altar.
The golden altar was to be
covered with a cloth of blue over which were placed a covering of badgers’
skins fastened with staves. And all the instruments of ministry were to be
placed in a cloth of blue covered over with badgers’ skins and placed upon a
bar. And the ashes shall be removed from the altar
and the altar covered over with a purple cloth. And they shall place on the
altar all the vessels used for ministering; the censors, the flesh hooks, the shovels
and basins, and all the vessels and cover them over with badgers’ skins and put
in the staves of it.
And when Aaron and his sons
have completed the task of covering the sanctuary and all the vessels and instruments
thereof as the camp is ready to go forward, the sons of Kohath shall come
forward to bear it; but they shall not touch any holy thing lest they die. This was the sole duty of the sons of Kohath
with regard to bearing the tabernacle of the congregation. More
