BRAGADAYJAH 712
Sisera Flees from the Battle
And the Lord discomforted Sisera and all his chariots and all his host
with the edge of the sword before Barak so that Sisera lighted down from his
chariot and fled on foot. But Barak
pursued after the chariots and after the host even unto Rosheth of the
Gentiles; and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword and there
was not a man left. However, Sisera fled away on foot to the tent of Jael, the
wife of Heber the Kenite, for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor
and the house of Heber the Kenite. And
Jael went out to meet Sisera and said unto him turn in my Lord; turn in to me
and fear not; and when he had turned in unto her, she covered him with a
mantle. And he said to her, give me I pray thee a little water to drink for I
am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk and gave it to him and covered him.
And he said to her, stand in the door of the tent; and if any man comes and ask
you if any man is here with you will then say no. Feeling secure with Jael and being tired,
Sisera fell asleep and while he was asleep, Jael took a nail and drove it
through his skull so that he died.
