BRAGADAYJAH 659
After that, Joshua turned his attention to Hazor and took
that city; he smote the king with the sword for Hazor was of former times the
king of those kingdoms that had aligned themselves against Israel. And he smote
all the inhabitants of that city so that none were left alive; and afterwards
he burnt the city with fire. And all the cities of those kingdoms were
destroyed as Moses the servant of the Lord had directed him to do. But of the cities that stood still in their strength
Joshua burnt none except Hazor. And all the spoils of those cities and the
cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man
they smote with the edge of the sword until there were none left. So Joshua
took all the lands, the hills and all the south country and all the land of
Goshen and the valley and the plain and the mountain of Israel, and the valley
of the same. from Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir even unto Baalgad in the
valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon and all their kings he took and smote
them.
