Regarding Vows, and Necessity.
And
when you make a vow unto the Lord your God, you must not be slack to keep it; for
the Lord your God will require it of you, and it would be a sin not to perform
it. But if you shall refuse to make the vow in the first place, that would be
no sin in doing so. Whatever you have vowed with your mouth you must be careful
to perform it, even if it is a freewill offering which you promise to the Lord
your God, you must be careful to perform it.
When
you come upon your neighbors vineyard, you may eat grapes to your full; but you
must not gather and carry any away. And when you come upon the standing grain
of your neighbor, then you may puck the ears with your hands; but you must not
move a sickle into your neighbors standing grain.
