The Divine Captain
And it came to pass when Joshua was at Jericho that he
looked up and saw a man towering over him with a drawn sword in his hand. And
Joshua confronted him and asked him whether he was a friend or a foe. And the
man answered and said, “I am captain of the hosts of the Lord I am now come.
And Joshua knelt down before him and did obeisance and asked, “What does my
lord has to say to me thy servant?” And the captain of the Lord’s host told
Joshua, “Loose thy feet from off thy feet for the place on which you stand is
holy.” And Joshua did so.
