BRAGADAYJAH 554
The
Feast of Weeks
Having
given further directions concerning the Feast of Passover, the Lord then gave
command about the Feast of Weeks as follows: Seven Weeks shall be counted from
the time the sickle is put to the grain, {that is to say, seven weeks from the
start of the corn harvest,} and after seven weeks was to be kept the Feast of
Weeks. It was to be a free will offering,
a tribute unto the Lord of the grain, “according to the Lord your God has
blessed thee.” This feast was to be celebrated before the Lord with the
offerer’s whole family, his son, his daughter, and the Levites, and the male
and female servants, as well as the stranger within his gate, and including
also the poor, the fatherless and the widow within the neighborhood, the Lord
reminding his people not to forget that they were also once slaves in Egypt
before the Lord brought them put by His mighty outstretched arm. Therefore, He
warned them do not ever forget to do this.
