The Song of Moses

And Moses sang a new song, "Give ear O heavens, and I will speak, and hear O earth the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass. Becuase I will proclaim the name of the Lord; ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect for all His ways are justice; a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He. They have corrupted themselves; their spot is not the spot of His children; they are a perverse and crooked generation."

The Lord Warns Moses of Israel’s Apostasy

Now the Lord told Moses that his death was at hand, and bid him summon Joshua and have him present himself along with him in the tabernacle of the congregation, that He the Lord may charge Joshua. And the Lord appeared in the tabernacle in a pillar of cloud which stood over the tabernacle. And the Lord said unto Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers, and the people will rise up and play the harlot in the land in which they go and shall seek after strange gods and forsake my ways. Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them; and they shall be swallowed up and many dangers shall befall them; and they will then realize that the evil has befallen them because they have forsaken their God.”

Final Warning

And Moses continued and said, “The Lord, He it is who goes before you; He will be with you, He will walk with you, He will not fail or forsake you; so do not be dismayed.” And so Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord; and unto all the elders of Israel.  And Moses commanded them and said, “At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, when all Israel is come to appear before the Lord your God, in the place which He shall choose, thou shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.  So gather all the people together; men, women, children, the stranger within your gate, that they may hear and that they may learn and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of the law; that their children who did not know before, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as they shall live.”  www.chaberbooks.com

MOSES ANNOUNCES HIS IMMINENT DEPARTURE

Now Moses called all the people together and said to them; "I am an hundred and twenty years old today, and I am no longer able to go out and come in easily, and also the Lord has said to me that I will not go over the Jordan. But the Lord your God will go over with you and He will destroy the nations from before you, and you shall possess their lands and Joshua whom the Lord has chosen will go over with you. And the Lord will do unto them as He did unto Sihon and unto Og, the kings of the Amorites, and unto the lands of them whom He destroyed. The Lord shall give them up before your face, that you may do unto them according to all the commandments which I have commanded you. Therefore, be strong and be of good courage; fear not nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God He it is that goes with you; he will not fail you nor forsake you." And Moses called Joshua and spoke to him in the presence of all the people and said unto him, "Be strong, and of good courage; for you must go with this people unto the land which the Lord has sworn unto their fathers to give them, and you shall lead them and cause them to inherit it." The Crucial Choice between Good and Evil

So see you that you have this day set before you, life and death, good and evil. And I command you this day to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His ordinances; that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God shall bless you in the land to which you go. But if your heart be turned away, so that you will not hear, and you are drawn away to worship other Gods, and to serve them, I declare unto you this day that you shall surely perish, and that your days will not be prolonged in the land you are going to over the Jordon. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing; therefor, you must choose between good and evil; whether to love and obey the Lord your God, and inherit and proper in the land promised to your fathers, Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.

The Palestinian Covenant continued
And you shall return and obey the voice of the Lord your God and do His commandments; and the Lord will make you plenteous in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your cattle, and in the land for good; for the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you will hearken unto the voice of the Lord your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you return unto the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul.

For this commandment which I give unto you this day is not hidden from you, neither is it far off. It is not on heaven that you should say who will go up for us to heaven and bring it unto us that we may hear it and do it. It is not beyond the sea that thou should say, who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it near unto us that we may hear it and do it? But the word is very near unto you, in your mouth and in your heart that you may do it. More

The Lord's Promise of Restitution.

And so the Lord promised his people that "When all of the evil things would have come upon them, both the blessings and the curses, and they call them to mind during the time they are captives among the nations to which the Lord their God would have driven them, and shall then come to their senses and return unto the Lord their God, and obey his voice according to all that they were commanded to do, and they and their children return unto the Lord with all their heart, and with all your soul, then the Lord their God would deliver them out of their captivity and have compassion on them, and would return and gather them from all the nations from which they were scattered, and the Lord their God would bring them back into the land which their fathers possessed and they shall possess it. And He would do them good and multiply them above their fathers.”

"And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your children to love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul; so that you may live. And the Lord your God shall put all your curses on your enemies and on them that hated and persecuted you."  www.chaberbooks.com
